There is snow in the foothills, and I want to Toby to play (he has never seen snow). I also really want some pictures of the Sunchaser in the snow. I figure as long as I don’t go farther than the roads are clear, I should be ok. What say you, Oppo - should I take a day trip to chase the sun in the snow?

depends- is road salt used in your area? if so, I wouldn’t take an ‘80s Toyota out in it.

Wash it really well when you get back. I have no faith in road maintenance crews.
But really though, with reasonable tires you should be fine. Even on summer tires as long as the roads are dry.

Do it, if there’s salt then make sure to wash the underside ASAP once it’s home and cooled down.

Yes! Small cars with removable roofs and all season tires are tremendous fun in not more than moderate amounts of snow. Back when I drove an NB miata, my coworkers would wonder why I always drove it to work instead of my full-sized, BOF 4x4 SUV on the two days per year here that it snows down here on the desert floor. A miata in not more than 4-5 inches of snow was sublime. Rinse the undercarriage off well when you get home and enjoy the experience.
